k1ng: The Squid and the Whale is the filet of the drama genre. The story is about a divorce and the breakup of an intellectual family living in Brooklyn. Jeff Daniels gave his best performance yet as he played the arrogant father who was once a successful author. The dialog is dense, but clever and quite quotable. This movie is not recommended for philistines or half-wits.
